Server rules
The rules of play on Blood Island. Read them before you join, so everyone gets to enjoy the server.
The rules exist so everyone can have fun, not to catch people out. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask in Discord first rather than argue about it afterwards.
Penalty ladder
| Offence | Penalty |
|---|---|
| 1 | 7-day ban |
| 2 | 15-day ban |
| 3 | Permanent ban |
Rules marked ⛔ skip the ladder and go straight to a permanent ban
⏱Enforced by the server, with no admin involved
These three are not judged by anybody. The server does them itself, within seconds. Read them before you play — especially the first, because the first one kills you.
The Sanctuary clock
A Sanctuary is for passing through, not for resting in. Nobody may hunt inside one, but you cannot stay longer than three minutes. The launcher puts a countdown at the top of your screen the moment you step in.
| Time inside | What happens |
|---|---|
| 60 seconds | Health, stamina, hunger and thirst are all cut to 20% — a bar already below 20% loses 10 points instead |
| 120 seconds | All four cut to 5% — a bar already below 5% loses 1 point instead |
| 180 seconds | You die. No further warning, no exceptions |
Step out and the clock clears at once. Nothing accumulates, there is no cooldown, and walking back in starts from zero. Admins are exempt from the penalties but see the same clock.
Species limits
Each species has a cap on how many may be on the island at once. A full species disappears from the spawn menu by itself and comes back when somebody stops playing it. This is not a bug and needs no report — there is no queue and no reserving, only waiting for room.
Storing a dinosaur
You may only store a dinosaur at full health and full stamina; the server refuses anything less. That is so nobody can use storage to escape a fight — and trying to is separately a breach of rule 03 (combat logging).
01General conduct
- ⛔ Sexual harassment, sharing 18+ content, or any inappropriate content involving minors
- ⛔ Discrimination based on race, religion, gender or disability
- ⛔ Revealing someone's personal information (doxxing): real name, address, workplace, phone number
- ⛔ Threats of violence or death, joking or not
- → Repeatedly insulting, belittling or baiting other players
- → Spamming chat, shouting in caps, or advertising other servers
Example Friendly teasing between friends is fine. Carrying on after the other person has asked you to stop is harassment.
02On Discord
- ⛔ Posting NSFW content in any channel
- → Posting in the wrong channel, or tagging @everyone / admins without need
- → Arguing in public channels — open a ticket instead
- → Sharing clips or images edited to mislead, in order to frame another player
03Combat
- Kill on sight is allowed — you may attack or kill another player the moment you meet, with no warning first. Hunting and surviving are the game.
- → Combat logging — deliberately leaving the game or disconnecting during a fight to avoid dying or the outcome of the fight
- → Proximity voice may be used to taunt or set a scene, but no swearing, abuse, belittling or harassment. Staff judge tone, temper, context and intent, and rule 01 still applies.
- → No fighting around a restart — everyone stops five minutes before a restart, and after the server is back nobody fights until Enjoy! appears in game. Discord announces it too, but the in-game message is what counts.
- Surrender — when one side gives up, whether to spare them is the winner's choice. Nobody is obliged to spare anyone.
How combat logging is judged Staff look at the evidence and the circumstances: HP when the player dropped, whether it keeps happening, what witnesses say, and the logged times. If an intent to escape the fight cannot be shown clearly there is no ban, and the player may always explain with evidence of their own.
No third partying
Nobody outside a fight may join it, by attacking or by talking, until it has clearly ended. The examples below use X fighting Y, with Z as the third party.
- → Z stays out — no attacking X or Y, and no words or messages that interfere with the fight
- → X and Y do not switch targets — no turning on a Z who is passing or nearby; end or leave the first fight before anything else
- A fight that drags on — Z may suggest stopping only during a pause in the attacks, it needs both X and Y to agree, and it must be asked politely
⚔️ When a fight is over
A fight is over when any one of these is true:
- ☠️・One side's whole party is dead — the fight is over at once
- 🤝・Both sides agree to stop and end the clash together
- 🏃・A successful escape — out of sight, and the other side has stopped following
- 👀・Still lying in wait or still chasing — the fight is not over
⏳ Attacking after a fight (no waiting for a fight to end)
Once a fight between players or parties is over, another party may attack the survivors straight away, with no 10-minute wait — but only if they come across them by chance after the fight has ended.
- ✅・Allowed: a player or party passing by who finds the survivors by chance after the fight may attack at once
- → ❌・Not allowed: watching, lurking, waiting nearby, or knowing a fight is on and deliberately waiting for it to end before attacking the survivors
- → ❌・Not allowed: deliberately circling the fight or hiding until one side is weakened or hurt, then attacking once it ends
⚠️ Important: "just passing by" has to be a real chance meeting, not watching from cover or waiting for an opening. Waiting on purpose for a fight to end is a rule break straight away; staff decide from the evidence and what happened.
Examples, so everyone reads it the same way
- Case 1: party A fights B until the fight ends, then party C happens to come across A → ✅ C may attack A at once
- → Case 2: party C sees A and B fighting, watches or waits out of sight until it ends, then attacks A → ❌ C breaks the rule
- → Case 3: party C sees A and B fighting, walks away, but comes back on purpose once it ends to attack the survivors → ❌ C breaks the rule
This rule is about not lying in wait to pick off a fight's survivors, in place of the old forced 10-minute rest, so that meeting and hunting stay natural.
The Deinosuchus exception
| ✅ Allowed | ❌ Not allowed |
|---|---|
| Using right click (lunge/bite) from the water on someone at the bank who is in a fight | Leaving the water to join a fight on land, on anyone's side |
| Attacking anyone who is already in the water, from X or Y alike | Acting as reinforcements for a party already in a fight |
| Up to two Deinosuchus in the same party ambushing, coordinating and hunting together | Deinosuchus from different parties biting, pinning, holding or taking turns on the same prey |
| — | A Deinosuchus from party Z joining a fight between X's and Y's Deinosuchus — third partying, even though they are all the same species |
Allowed, for example X and Y are fighting and X moves close to the water: Z's Deinosuchus may lunge from the water and drag X in · X escapes into the water and Y jumps in after: the Deinosuchus may bite either. The exception is for hunting from the water only, never for working with another party.
The Herrerasaurus exception
- May strike a target in someone else's fight only with a pounce combo from height, such as a tree or anything else it can leap from
- → Walking or running in to bite, claw or fight up close on the ground in someone else's fight — that is third partying, plainly
When does a fight start? As soon as it is clear who is hunting and who is hunted — not at the first damage. The third-partying rule applies from that moment.
04Groups, parties and packs
The most of each species that may group together — counting everyone grouped together, whether in one party or split across several.
| Carnivores | Max | Herbivores / omnivores | Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spinosaurus | 2 | Stegosaurus | 2 |
| Tyrannosaurus | 2 | Triceratops | 2 |
| Giganotosaurus | 2 | Ankylosaurus | 2 |
| Deinosuchus | 2 | Camarasaurus | 4 |
| Allosaurus | 3 | Diabloceratops | 4 |
| Carnotaurus | 3 | Kentrosaurus | 4 |
| Ceratosaurus | 4 | Maiasaura | 5 |
| Herrerasaurus | 4 | Tenontosaurus | 5 |
| Dilophosaurus | 4 | Pachycephalosaurus | 6 |
| Pteranodon | 6 | Dryosaurus | 10 |
| Austroraptor | 8 | Hypsilophodon | 10 |
| Omniraptor | 8 | Gallimimus (omnivore) | 8 |
| Troodon | 10 | Beipiaosaurus (omnivore) | 10 |
Overpacking
- → The same species grouping beyond the limit in the table, for any reason or intent
- → Splitting into separate parties that still group together beyond the limit — separate parties do not get round this
- → Adopting a juvenile that did not hatch from your own group's eggs — it counts as a member like anyone else, and if that takes you over the limit it is a breach at once
- Meeting another party to talk is fine for up to 10 minutes, but it is not an exception for hunting or fighting together. Staff look at behaviour and intent, even inside the 10 minutes.
- When the time is up, or a fight breaks out during the meeting, every party not in it leaves until out of in-game voice range, at once
- Overpacking during a fight breaks both rule 03 (third partying) and rule 04 (overpacking); staff penalise on the more serious of the two
Mixpacking
Different species may not team up for an advantage in hunting, attacking or facing other players, even if each is within its own limit. Not landing a hit yourself does not make it fine if you help, coordinate or support.
| Breaks the rule | Because |
|---|---|
| A Carnotaurus and a Ceratosaurus hunt together, one cutting off escape while the other attacks | Coordinated hunting across species |
| A Troodon baits a target into running at a waiting Tyrannosaurus | Using another species as bait |
| A Pteranodon scouts and calls positions to an Allosaurus group by voice or Discord | Scouting for another species |
| A Ceratosaurus joins in on a Tenontosaurus its Carnotaurus ally is fighting | Attacking across species, and possibly third partying too |
| A Tyrannosaurus and a Giganotosaurus travel together, guarding each other and driving others away | A cross-species alliance |
| A Dilophosaurus blocks the escape route for a Carnotaurus, without doing damage itself | Blocking an escape is helping the hunt |
- Different species may meet — herbivore with herbivore, carnivore with carnivore, or herbivore with carnivore — to talk or interact for a while, as long as nobody teams up for an advantage
- → Travelling together continuously for more than 10 minutes
- → Somebody attacks during a meeting and several parties join forces against them — everyone splits up in different directions; only the party that was attacked may stay and fight
Staff judge by how players cooperated and by the evidence, never merely by different species being near each other.
Team killing
- → Deliberately hurting or killing a member of your own party, for any reason
- → Attacking a former party member within 10 minutes of leaving the party
- → Using a quarrel in the party as a reason to fight or retaliate — if you fall out, stop and go separate ways at once
05Nests and hatchlings
- You may raise a hatchling from your eggs until it reaches 35% growth
- → Attacking a nest with only hatchlings in it and no adult in sight
- Defending a nest is not third partying — an active nest may be defended by the parents who own it and by their party members, who must already have been in a party with both parents before the attack
- → Placing a nest where it blocks a path, a water source or a spawn point
- → Farming eggs to sell or trade outside the game
06Griefing and exploits
Everything in this rule can earn a ban even where no other rule mentions it, and staff may act on evidence found afterwards, however long ago it happened.
- ⛔ Cheats, modified game files, or macros that give an advantage
- ⛔ Exploiting the terrain — getting under the map, through the ground or walls, into spots where characters get stuck, or into broken structures — for an advantage
- → Setting up the Alt key to attack faster or more often than the game normally allows, on any species
- → Carrying a player who is latched on your back into a bugged spot — a bridge, rocks or a tree — so they fall to their death, get stuck or cannot escape · latched on means a player clinging to or riding on another player's dinosaur
- → Using any bug for your own benefit, or using a server flaw to gain on or grief other players without telling the staff
- → Deliberately lagging the server, for example by placing large numbers of objects
Found a bug? Report it in a ticket, and press F2 in game. Whoever reports a bug first is not penalised, even if they had already used it by accident.
The juvenile zone
The juvenile zone is where young dinosaurs spawn, but it is not a safe zone; you can still be attacked there under the server's conditions.
| Your state | What happens |
|---|---|
| 🟢 40% growth or under | Stay as long as you like, as long as the bees are not attacking you |
| 🔴 Over 40% growth | Leave — if you stay, water and food keep dropping until you die |
| 🐝 The bees start attacking | You are big enough for the bees, which counts the same even below 40% — leave |
- → Repeatedly and deliberately harassing new players in the starting area
- → Ambushing or repeatedly hunting players in the juvenile zone or around its entrances — passing through is all that is allowed, and a hatchling met by chance on the way may be attacked
07Out-of-game coordination
- → Using information from dead players or spectators (ghosting) to locate living ones
- → Using the Blood Island map or friends system to hunt someone who has not agreed to it
- → Agreeing outside the game to monopolise an area or its resources
Friends are consent on both sides. Only people who have accepted can see each other, and either can end it at any time. If someone pressures you into adding them, tell an admin.
08Accounts and identity
- ⛔ Using an alternate account to evade a ban
- ⛔ Impersonating an admin or another player
- → Lending or sharing your account — whatever happens on it is the owner's responsibility
- → In-game names that are violent, sexual, or imitate an admin
09Admins
- Admins decide on evidence — clips and screenshots help a lot. Without evidence a warning may be all that is possible.
- Admins do not use their powers to help themselves or their friends in normal play
- Unhappy with a decision? Appeal in a ticket — not by complaining in public channels
- → Repeatedly pestering admins about a decision that has already been made
10Community
- This is a Thai server, but everyone is welcome — speak any language, just be polite
- New players can always ask. There are no stupid questions.
- If you see someone breaking the rules, keep the evidence and report it. Do not break the rules back.
The rules may change as needed. Changes are always announced in Discord before they take effect.
